  • Kenya Nyeri Gatomboya AA

Roast: Medium Review Date: May 2013
Origin: Nyeri growing region, south-central Kenya Price: $18.00/12 ounces

Blind Assessment: Intense; complex floral and citrus. Honey, ripe lime, night-blooming flowers and a softening suggestion of milk chocolate in aroma and cup. Sweetly bright acidity; very silky mouthfeel. Flavor, particularly flowers, saturates a long, resonant finish.

Notes: Despite grower discontent and urban encroachment on prime coffee lands, Kenya continues to produce some of the world's most elegant and distinctive coffees. AA is the highest grade of Kenya coffee based on bean size and freedom from physical imperfections. Papa Lin's Coffee Roasting is a small, “nano” roaster located in Yorktown Heights, New York, focusing on carefully sourced, extremely high quality specialty coffees, which are custom roasted to the preference of every customer. Who Should Drink It: Those who enjoy the intense, sweetly bright style of the great Kenya cup.

Coffee, more so than wine, is a continually changing product. Recent reviews, whether written by Coffee Review or readers, are most likely to reflect current versions of a given coffee.
