Roast: Very-Dark Review Date: June 2010
Origin: Not disclosed. Price: $13.95/22 K-Cups

Blind Assessment: (As brewed in a Keurig Platinum single-serve home brewing device using a "K-Cup" capsule to produce an 8-ounce serving size): Sweet-toned aroma with suggestions of caramel, smoky scorched wood and toast. In the cup, medium-bodied and lightly syrupy in mouthfeel, with a continued bittersweet, gently scorched wood character complicated by muted caramel and chocolate notes, all of which carry into a rich, briskly astringent finish.

Notes: Keurig brewing devices were among the first single-serve brewers on the market, starting in the mid 1990's with office models and now offering several home models with names such as Mini, Elite and Platinum. Revv is a brand of coffee roasted and sold by Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, with the motto, "More Coffee. More Kick." This Revv sample packs a little more coffee into each capsule than even the "Extra Bold" version of the K-Cup. Green Mountain Coffee Roasters is one of the country's leading specialty roasters, offering a particularly wide-ranging variety of origins and roast styles. Visit www.greenmountaincoffee.com or call 800-223-6768 for more information.

Who Should Drink It: Bracingly pungent ultra-dark roast with some caramelly sweetness to nuance the cup.

Coffee, more so than wine, is a continually changing product. Recent reviews, whether written by Coffee Review or readers, are most likely to reflect current versions of a given coffee.
