Blind Assessment: (As brewed in a Keurig B60 single-serve brewing device using a "K-Cup" capsule to produce a 6-ounce serving size): Straightforward, roasty aroma with a note of dark chocolate. In the cup, charred wood dominates along with a faint cocoa-like quality, and rather lean mouthfeel. Roastiness continues into the finish, with mild astringency and some sweetness developing in the long.

Notes: Keurig brewing devices were among the first single-serve brewers on the market, starting in the mid 1990's with office models and now with three home models, the no-frills B40, the B60 with more flexible brew-strength/serving size, and the full-featured B70. This sample is offered in a K-Cup that packs more coffee into the capsule and produces a more intense flavor profile than a normal K-Cup.
