Notes of sweet nut, caramel and aromatic wood in aroma and cup. Full body, syrupy mouthfeel and a finish enlivened by a bitter-edged chocolate and more aromatic wood.
A straightforward, ultra dark-roasted blend that combines sweet notes of charred and aromatic wood with complications of anise and caramel. Medium body and a soft though rather lean mouthfeel. The charred, roasty edge carries into the finish, softened by continued sweetness.
Sweet, deep, tartly pungent aroma: ripe lemon, black currant. Rich acidity, slightly lean mouthfeel. Aromatics simplify in the cup, but remain pleasing and lively: lemon, pungent black currant, nut-toned cocoa.
Round notes of butter, caramel, molasses and a hint of citrus in the aroma. Silky to lightly syrupy mouthfeel, softly tart acidity. Fruit moves forward in the cup – apricot, a more distinct lemon – with continued suggestions of caramel and molasses. Flavor simplifies a bit in the quiet finish.
Crisp, bergamot-like citrus, lavender and fir in the aroma. Soft acidity; silky mouthfeel. The citrus rounds toward ripe lemon in the cup, with a hint of deeper, savory fruit. Fades slightly in the finish.
Delicately sweet aroma highlighted by a complex range of fruit: ripe berry, spicy citrus, with a backgrounded nut and fir. Gently tart acidity, medium body, silky mouthfeel. In the cup flavor smoothes and rounds, with the nut and fir moving forward and the fruit softening toward chocolate. Flavor persists in the short finish but fades toward a mild astringency in the long.
Pleasingly gentle cup. Crisp nut-toned chocolate with rounder, deeper hints of cherryish fruit dominates in both aroma and cup. Smooth mouthfeel, soft acidity, deep-toned finish.
Intense and distinctive in aroma and cup: earth, fresh-cut fir, pungent grapefruit. Moderate acidity, medium body. The intensity and intrigue in the flavor thins a bit in the finish, though the grapefruit-like citrus persists.
Tart lemon and rose-like flowers dominate in aroma and cup, with the citrus turning sweeter and juicier in the cup. Lightly syrupy mouthfeel; intense, citrusy acidity. Citrus fades in the finish but a nut-toned cocoa hinted at in aroma and cup becomes more explicit.
A richly balanced cup. Notes of sweet orange and floral-toned herb (coriander?) in the aroma. Softly bright acidity, lightly syrupy mouthfeel. In the cup flavor leans toward black cherry and grapy dessert wine. Richness carries deep into the finish, as does flavor.
Layers of rose, peach and lemon in the aroma. Silky mouthfeel, medium body, crisp acidity. Flowers move forward in the cup with complex suggestions of rose and lavender and continued complications of ripe citrus and a sweeter stone fruit. The flavor intrigue carries seamlessly from cup to a dry-edged, flavor-saturated finish.
Refined fruit-toned acidity points up flavors of ripe lemon, orange, honey and a toasty chocolate that becomes more pronounced in the finish. Syrupy mouthfeel, bright but balanced overall.
Evaluated as espresso. Rich and round in the aroma with soft hints of milk chocolate, stone fruit and baking spice. In the small cup the flavors broaden: apricot and honeydew melon deepened by dark chocolate and fresh tobacco. Flavors soften and persist rather deeply in the finish. In two parts milk, candied citrus peel and caramelized fruit maintain rich authority.
Evaluated as espresso. Deep dark chocolate and hints of fruit in the aroma. In the small cup the fruit becomes richer and distinct, showing cherry-like and floral complications that carry into a softly nuanced finish. Sweet and balanced in two parts milk, with sustained hints of fruit, butter and toast.
Deep, pungent cup. Spicy, peach-toned fruit, dark chocolate, tart cherry with a hint of flowers in aroma and cup. Low-toned but rich acidity, syrupy mouthfeel. Long, resonant, almost sugary finish.
Notes of orange, caramel and cinnamon in aroma and cup. Straightforward with good intensity, elegant fruit-toned acidity, medium body and a silky mouthfeel. Flavors simplify in the finish, perhaps dampened by a slight hint of woody astringency.
Delicate hints of orange, flowers and roasted nut in the aroma. Gently bright-toned acidity, lightly syrupy mouthfeel with juicy suggestions of lemon, orange, stone fruit and more flowers with a pungent hint of fresh-cut fir. Superb finish: Long, sweet, complex, fruit-toned.
Evaluated as espresso. Rich, concentrated fruit flavors in aroma and small cup: sweetly tart cranberry and pie cherry, floral top notes with a deepening hint of dark chocolate. Resonant, long, fruit-toned finish. Light-bodied. Balanced in two parts milk: The fruit softens toward milk chocolate but retains a pleasingly tart edge.
Round and balanced throughout. Notes of crisp white wine, ripe lemon, caramel and a hint of flowers in aroma and cup. Refined acidity, bright but not overbearing; lightly syrupy mouthfeel. Clean finishing with soft fruit and milk chocolate notes that intensify in the long.
Bright, balanced, delicate. Tart cherry, peach, black currant, rose-like flowers in aroma and cup. Giddily and sweetly bright acidity; light, silky-textured mouthfeel. Sweet, gently rich finish deeply saturated with flavor.
