Blind Assessment: Strikingly sweet, with virtually no dark-roast bitterness. The sweetness is agreeably complicated by tart berryish or citrusy tones, but overall the profile seems a bit restrained, a touch limited in range and dimension. Notes: Strikingly sweet, with virtually no dark-roast bitterness. Over the years this has been one of my favorite dark-roast blends. It remains impressive this time around, though perhaps less authoritative than in cuppings past. Who Should Drink It: Admirers of sweetness without sentiment. |
