Roast: Medium-Light Review Date: June 2013
Origin: Huehuetenango growing region, Guatemala; Sidamo growing region, Ethiopia. Price: $17.00/12 ounces

Blind Assessment: Evaluated as espresso. Immense, sweet, lushly complex. Rich chocolate, pineapple, banana, cherry jam and floral notes in aroma and small cup. Light but smoothly syrupy mouthfeel; sweet, flavor-saturated finish. Flavor persists comprehensively in three parts milk with particularly pronounced floral tones.

Notes: A blend of a wet-processed or “washed” Guatemala and a dry-processed or “natural” Ethiopia coffee roasted for espresso brewing. Thirty-Thirty is a small-batch coffee roasting company located in Peoria, Illinois that is committed to sourcing the finest green coffees and to expressing the individuality and character of those coffees from the roasting process to the cup. Who Should Drink It: Great natural sweetness makes this espresso a fine choice for those with a grown-up sweet tooth, but any espresso enthusiast should enjoy its massive but balanced complexity.

Coffee, more so than wine, is a continually changing product. Recent reviews, whether written by Coffee Review or readers, are most likely to reflect current versions of a given coffee.
