Blind Assessment: Cocoa- and floral-driven. Baking chocolate, plum, fresh-cut fir, lime zest, gardenia in aroma and cup. Sweet in structure with gentle, round acidity; lightly syrupy mouthfeel. The finish consolidates to notes of cocoa-toned plum, lime zest, fir.
Notes: This coffee tied for the third-highest rating in a cupping of washed-process coffees from Central America and Mexico for Coffee Review’s September 2020 report. Produced by smallholding members of Asocafe Canet entirely from trees of the Caturra variety of Arabica and processed by the washed method. The Bottom Line: A zesty-sweet floral, chocolaty and citrusy Costa Rica cup.
