Blind Assessment: Evaluated as espresso. Deep, shifting complexity. Dark chocolate, hazelnut, a hint of night-blooming flowers in aroma and small cup. An apricot-like note in the aroma brightens and turns delicately citrusy in the small cup and in a sweetly drying, chocolate-toned finish. Buoyant, creamy mouthfeel. Chocolate dominates in three parts milk, crisply sweet and nut-toned.
Notes: Paradise Roasters specializes in micro-lot coffees and espressos from Hawaii and other premier coffee growing regions. The company prides itself on quality and freshness, craft-roasting coffees in small batches only after orders are placed. Visit www.paradiseroasters.com or call 763-433-0626 for more information.
Who Should Drink It: Impressive balance and layered complexity in this quiet but authoritative single-origin espresso should please those who take their espresso as straight shot or in short milk.
