Fruit-toned, deeply pungent. Blueberry, rum cordial, fresh-cut fir, baker’s chocolate, gardenia-like flowers in aroma and cup. Fruit-forward acidity; lightly syrupy mouthfeel. The quiet finish is characterized by cocoa-toned blueberry in the short and hints of aromatic wood in the long.
A “natural” or dry-processed coffee, meaning the beans were dried inside the fruit, encouraging a flavor profile that is sweeter and deeper-toned than the more familiar wet-processed coffees of Panama. Produced entirely from trees of the respected Catuai variety of Arabica. The Lamastus family’s Elida Estate averages the highest growing elevations in Panama: 5,500 to 8,200 feet (1,700 to 2,500 meters). Old Soul is a roastery, bakery and crafter of artisan goods dedicated to quality in every form. Visit www.oldsoulco.com or call 916-443-7685 for more information.
A sweetly and discreetly fermenty cup that will appeal to those who enjoy lushly fruit-toned coffees with cocoa and aromatic wood complication.
