Blind Assessment: Roundly and richly tart; lively. Orangy citrus, honeysuckle, honey, vanilla, a spicy hint of sandalwood in aroma and cup. Delicately juicy, bright acidity; very silky mouthfeel. Flavor consolidates in a resonant, sweet-toned finish.
Notes: This coffee is certified organically grown. Although the words "Fair Trade" appear as well on the label of the attractive 12-ounce valve-topped can, the trade-marked seal of Fair Trade USA does not. Fondo Paez is a cooperative of 550 farmers from the indigenous Paez people of central Colombia. Kickapoo Coffee is a Wisconsin micro-roaster devoted to organic and fair-trade principles and coffees. Who Should Drink It: Classic Colombia breakfast cup with bonus nuance and depth and a fine social and environmental story.
