Blind Assessment: Gently fruit-toned, richly bittersweet. Raspberry, hop flowers, baking chocolate, honey, lemon verbena in aroma and cup. Sweet-savory structure with balanced acidity; viscous, satiny mouthfeel. The quietly intricate finish centers around raspberry and chocolate suggestions.
Notes: Produced at Finca Medina from trees of the Bourbon and Marsellesa varieties of Arabica, and processed by the natural method (dried in the whole fruit). JBC Coffee Roasters’ vision is simple: “let the coffee lead the way” through sourcing and roasting the best and most unique coffees available and rewarding the farmers who grow those coffees with substantial premiums. The Bottom Line: A pretty natural-processed Guatemala that leads with gentle berry notes supported by rich chocolate and sweet herb undertones.
