Blind Assessment
An intense, densely complex, rather hectic coffee. Spice/herb medley (cardamom, lavender, patchouli, more), cedar, grape candy, hazelnut in aroma and cup. Profoundly sweet-savory in structure, without a hint of brightness or lift but still generous in range of sensation. Satiny in mouthfeel; in the finish flavor consolidates to a dense, rich sweetness.
Notes
Produced entirely from trees of the Liberica variety by My Liberica farm in the southern Malaysian state of Johor. Whole fruit is subject to a 20-day anaerobic fermentation in sealed drums before drying. Ghost Bird Coffee is a specialty roaster in the capital city of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur. This coffee is offered in Ghost Bird’s “Exotic” series of single-origin selections. Visit ghostbirdcoffee.co for more information.
Bottom Line
A luxurious, challenging coffee that falls over itself in its rich, disconcerting complexity.
