Blind Assessment: Deep, rich, balanced. Pungent fruit – grapefruit, black currant – is enveloped in a nut-toned dark chocolate. Softly rounded acidity; full, syrupy mouthfeel. Sweetly resonant finish.
Notes: Produced mainly from trees of the admired, Bourbon-derived SL 28 and SL 34 varieties. Grown by the Gikanda Co-op and processed at the distinguished, award-winning Gichatha-Ini Factory. Fair Trade certified, meaning it was purchased from small-holding farmers at a "fair" or economically sustainable price. Based in the San Diego area, Bird Rock Coffee Roasters is a retailer and wholesaler that focuses on organic and socially responsible coffees. Who Should Drink It : The pungent Kenya fruit is gently deepened by the roast, rounding complexity and softening acidity.
