Blind Assessment: Deep-toned, chocolaty. Baking chocolate, date, almond butter, fresh-cut oak, agave syrup in aroma and cup. Sweet-toned structure with gentle, round acidity; full, satiny mouthfeel. Crisp, chocolaty finish with undertones of almond and date.
Notes: Produced by smallholding farmers in the Guji region of Ethiopia and processed by the traditional washed method. Decaffeinated at the Descamex plant in Mexico by a water-only process that does not involve the use of solvents. Jackrabbit Java selects the finest coffees from around the world and roasts them in Thermopolis, Wyoming’s mountain air. All Jackrabbit Java coffees are specialty-grade and roasted to order. The Bottom Line: An impressive water-processed decaf from coffees produced in Ethiopia’s Guji growing area — sweet, chocolaty, with inviting aromatic wood notes.
