Blind Assessment: Elegantly fruit-forward, richly floral-toned. Star jasmine, lychee, frankincense, Meyer lemon zest, wild honey in aroma and cup. Bright, lyrical structure with zesty acidity; creamy, full mouthfeel. Long, rich, resonant finish redolent of jasmine and lychee.
Notes: Produced at Cafe Granja La Esperanza’s Cerro Azul Farm entirely of the Geisha variety of Arabica, and processed by fermenting in the whole fruit, then de-pulping, fermenting again, and washing. JBC Coffee Roasters’ vision is simple: “let the coffee lead the way” through sourcing and roasting the best and most unique coffees available and rewarding the farmers who grow those coffees with substantial premiums. The Bottom Line: A meticulously and experimentally processed Geisha cup from one of Colombia’s most respected farms: juicy, playful, floral, fruity, complex.
