Roast: Medium Review Date: August 2013
Origin: Tarrazu growing region, central Costa Rica Price: CAD $16.88/12 ounces

Blind Assessment: Intense, lemony, bright. Lemon drop, rose-like flowers, roasted cacao nib, a brisk hint of black tea in aroma and cup. Powerful, complexly expressed acidity; syrupy mouthfeel. Flavor consolidates but rings on far into a long finish.

Notes: From trees of the Caturra variety of Arabica grown at an elevation of around 6,000 feet, meticulously prepared at La Lia Micro Mill. Calgary-based Fratello is a second-generation boutique coffee roaster owned by three brothers who focus on responsible trade relationships with coffee growers. Who Should Drink It: Those who enjoy an intensely but elegantly bright, crisply complex cup in the classic high-grown Central America mode.
