Espresso Review - Deri Kochocha Espresso by Johnson Brothers Coffee Roasters
93
Roast: Medium-Light Review Date: June 2013
Origin: Sidamo (also Sidama) growing region, southern Ethiopia. Price: $14.99/12 ounces

Blind Assessment: Evaluated as espresso. Lushly floral and brightly fruit-toned. Jasmine, raspberry, lime, crisp roasted cacao nib in aroma and small cup. Light, silky mouthfeel; sweet, richly drying finish. In three parts milk the cacao notes fatten to a dry chocolate, the tart fruit ripens and rounds.

Notes: From the Deri Kochoha mill in the Hagere Maryame District a little south of the famous Yirgacheffe region, where coffees from local heirloom trees are subject to classically rigorous, traditional processing and drying procedures. Johnson Brothers Coffee Roasters is a distinguished small-batch roasting company. Visit www.johnsonbrotherscoffee.com or call 608-256-5282 for more information.

Who Should Drink It: Those who enjoy crisp, brightly aromatic straight shots and complex, lively cappuccini.

Coffee, more so than wine, is a continually changing product. Recent reviews, whether written by Coffee Review or readers, are most likely to reflect current versions of a given coffee.
