  • Honduras Benjamin Miranda Espresso

Roast: Medium Review Date: December 2010
Origin: Santa Barbara Department, Honduras. Price: $20.00/500 grams (17.6 oz.)

Blind Assessment: Evaluated as espresso. Sweet aromatic notes of raisin, chocolate and soft citrus. Full flavored in the small cup, with bittersweet fruit-infused chocolate hinting at grape, berry and orange, all of which persist deeply into the finish. Flavors predictably simplify in two parts milk but remain pleasing: sweet-toned fruit with a distinct minty complication.

Notes: Produced on the one and a half hectare Honduran farm of Benjamin Miranda in the village of El Cielito at an elevation of over 5,000 feet. Coava is a Portland based coffee roaster that aims to provide quality coffee and the knowledge needed to properly brew that coffee. Who Should Drink It: Sweet and balanced single-origin espresso.
