Blind Assessment: A deceptively complex cup. Flavor and aroma combine a subdued fruit with a sweet, toasty nuttiness, complicated by hints of butter, aromatic wood and chocolate. Roundly balanced acidity; soft, lightly syrupy mouthfeel. Fruit-toned chocolate dominates in the short finish, fading to a simple sweetness in the long. Notes: Most Java coffees are produced, like this one, on large government-operated estates in the mountains of East Java. These farms were originally established by the Dutch and quite traditional in their procedures and operation. Our Coffee Barn is a small-batch wholesale and Internet retail roaster based in Wisconsin. Visit www.ourcoffeebarn.com or call 877-265-2652 for more information. Who Should Drink It: An uncomplicated, comfortable coffee for long mornings that spill into afternoons. |
