Sumatran Reserve Fair Trade Organic by Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Review |
Roast: Very-Dark Review Date: August 2009
Origin: Northern Sumatra, Indonesia Price: NA

Blind Assessment: Mild, sweet-toned aroma with charred aromatic wood and fruit notes. In the cup medium to full body with a leanish mouthfeel. Continued sweet charred wood, earth, and muted tropical fruit that intensifies as the cup cools. Sweet roastiness lingers in the long, dry finish.

Notes: Evaluated pre-ground. This coffee is certified organically grown and Fair-Trade certified, meaning it was purchased from small-holding farmers at a "fair" or economically sustainable price. Green Mountain Coffee Roasters is one of the country's leading specialty roasters, offering a particularly wide-ranging variety of origins and roast styles. Visit or call 800-223-6768 for more information.

Who Should Drink It: Impeccable environmental and social credentials, dark-roast character, and hints of the classic fruit-and-earth Sumatra cup.

Coffee, more so than wine, is a continually changing product. Recent reviews, whether written by Coffee Review or readers, are most likely to reflect current versions of a given coffee.
