Roast: Medium-Light Review Date: June 2007
Origin: Mt. Meru region, Northern Tanzania Price: NA

Blind Assessment: The dry, crisply pungent berry character we call black currant gently dominates throughout the profile. In the aroma it takes on a light-red-wine-like character, while in the cup it is enveloped in a quiet background sweetness. Soft acidity, delicate body, simple finish.

Notes: AA is the highest grade of Tanzania coffee based on largest bean size and fewest visually imperfect beans. Mt. Meru is in northern Tanzania, near the border with Kenya, the next mountain south from Mt. Kilimanjaro. Coffee from the region is often marketed under the name of the main town in the region, Arusha. Stockton Graham & Company is a wholesale specialty beverage and accessory supply company ("Global Beverage Experiences") that puts particular emphasis on fine coffee. Who Should Drink It: Coffee drinkers looking for a less acidy and assertive version of the great black-currant Kenyas.

Coffee, more so than wine, is a continually changing product. Recent reviews, whether written by Coffee Review or readers, are most likely to reflect current versions of a given coffee.
