Sébastien Gavillet is a nose-for-hire and wine consultant/educator/profiler with over 10 years’ experience working with some of the biggest names in the wine industry. He is the Chief Wine Officer of Wine Aromas Inc, distributor of Le Nez du Vin and Le Nez du Café in the United States, and the man behind www.WineVibe.com, the multilingual wine blog read in over 180 countries.
Sébastien advises winemakers, coaches sommeliers and samples over 4,000 different wines in any given year. He speaks at private and public functions, has been on nationally syndicated radio shows, and sits on the wine-tasting panels of international wine competitions like the Mondial du Pinot Noir and the Mondial du Merlot. Sébastien’s keen nose and wine knowledge are a consequence of his background and early training. A native of Switzerland, he grew up surrounded by small wine producers and vineyards. He also often accompanied his father, a professional coffee taster, to coffee plantations and factories. A frequent visitor to coffee tasting rooms, he was exposed early to the world of coffee and the intricacies of achieving the perfect blend – and this instilled in him not only a great appreciation for aromas but also a great love for coffee. Currently based in Las Vegas, Sébastien spends most of his time as a consultant in the wine industry. What spare time he has, he divides equally among his other interests: cooking (Somms in the Kitchen), coffee and Single Malt Scotch (a topic on which he’s currently writing a book).
