Blind Assessment: Big, nuanced, multi-faceted. Fresh black currant, bergamot, pink grapefruit, sandalwood, maple syrup in aroma and cup. Deeply sweet with bright, juicy-tart acidity; crisply satiny mouthfeel. Delicately sweet, citrusy finish with sandalwood undertones.
Notes: Produced by smallholding farmers mainly from the Udaini variety of Arabica and processed by the natural method (sun-dried in the whole fruit). Imported by Port of Mokha. Chromatic prides itself in doing everything in-house and meticulously, from printing its attractive bags to modifying equipment to sourcing and roasting its exceptional coffees. The Bottom Line: Kenya-like in its finesse, power and balance — citrusy, richly bittersweet yet fruity and juicy.
