Blind Assessment: Sweet-toned, pungent, heavy. Prominent notes of fresh-cut oak, carob and sweet cherry with subtle malt and vanilla suggestions in aroma, and more pungently, in the cup. Brisk but backgrounded acidity; lightly syrupy mouthfeel. Flavor consolidates in a rich but drying finish.
Notes: Lake Tawar is situated in a crater valley at the heart of the Aceh growing region near the far northwestern tip of the island of Sumatra. 19 Plus refers to a grade of coffee representing only beans of the very largest size, screen 19 or up.
