Blind Assessment
Crisp, soft, sweet-toned. Dark chocolate, fresh-cut fir, plum, a hint of musk in aroma and cup. Gentle, balanced acidity; plush, satiny mouthfeel. Flavor consolidates in a sweet-toned though simple finish.
Notes
This coffee (Sombra del Poro or Shade of the Poro) takes its name from the Poro trees under which it is largely grown. It is Rainforest Alliance certified, meaning it was produced following sustainable ecological and socio-economic criteria developed by the Sustainable Agricultural Network, a coalition of independent, environment-focused non-governmental organizations. Caribou Coffee is a retail roasting chain based in the upper Middle West whose rather irreverent motto "Life is short. Stay awake for it" belies a serious approach to coffee.
