Blind Assessment: (As brewed in a Senseo single-serve brewing device to produce a 4-ounce serving): Despite the limitations of its paper pod format, achieves some of the deep, pungent, chocolate-toned character that lovers of dark-roasted coffees enjoy. A woody flatness sits on the richness, but it rises to the occasion of a rather impressive finish.
Notes: Douwe Egberts, the venerable Dutch firm become a world player and now a part of food giant Sara Lee, produces a variety of coffee blends. The Senseo-Douwe Egberts Dark Roast is one of ten non-flavored coffees offered in paper pods by Douwe Egberts under the Senseo brand name. These pods can be used either in the inexpensive Senseo pod machine or the Bunn My Café. Visit
Who Should Drink It: Good choice for Senseo (or Bunn My Café) owners looking for a dark-roast fix.
