Blind Assessment: Sweet, balanced, floral-toned. Jasmine, peach, pistachio, cardamom, cocoa nib in aroma and cup. Deeply sweet structure with savory undertones; plush, satiny mouthfeel. The richly drying finish is led by notes of jasmine in the short, pistachio and cocoa nib in the long.
Notes: Certified organic. Produced entirely from trees of the admired Bourbon variety of Arabica. A washed-process coffee (fruit is removed before drying). Hala Tree Coffee is a family-owned organic Kona coffee farm in the heart of the Kona coffee belt, overlooking historic Kealakekua Bay. The 100% Kona Coffee produced on this USDA organic-certified property is processed and roasted on site to ensure quality. For more information, visit www.halatreecoffee.com.
The Bottom Line: A nuanced, layered Kona cup characterized by stone fruit and sweet floral tones with a savory, cardamom-like depth.
