Blind Assessment

Delicate and richly exotic. Intense floral notes – lilac, plumeria, lavender – crisp roasted cacao nib, ripe tangerine, a hint of vanilla in aroma and cup. Brisk, lively acidity; very light but silky mouthfeel. Flowers, tangerine and vanilla all carry into a sweet-toned finish.

Notes

Produced from trees of the rare Ethiopia-derived botanical variety Gesha (also spelled Geisha). With its elegantly elongated beans and distinctive floral and crisp, often chocolaty cup, the Gesha variety continues to distinguish itself as one of the world’s most unique coffees. This is a dry-processed or “natural” version of the Gesha, meaning the beans were dried inside the fruit rather than after the fruit has been removed, as is the case with wet-processed or “washed” coffees. This particular Gesha was produced in Panama on the Ninety Plus Gesha Estates. Ninety Plus is a distinguished boutique producer and importer of innovative small-lot coffees from Ethiopia and Panama. ManLao River Project was originally started by the Yunnan government for the purpose of alleviating poverty and protecting the environment. ManLao is now a coffee producer as well as roaster and distributor of Ninety Plus coffees in China. Visit www.manlaorivercoffeeco.com or call 866-586-5912 for more information.

Who Should Drink It

Great sweetness and extravagant aromatics in a rare and exotic coffee.
