Blind Assessment: Sweet-toned, round, resonant. Peach, almond, fresh-cut cedar, rhododendron-like flowers in aroma and cup. Roundly brisk acidity; syrupy mouthfeel. Flavor consolidates but gently persists in a sweet-toned though drying finish.
Notes: El Roble (Oak Tree) Estate is owned and operated in exemplary fashion by Oswaldo Acevedo. Coffee is grown under full shade and processed by the traditional ferment-and-wash method. Certified organically grown. Weed control is manual and all agricultural inputs are generated on the farm or neighboring farms. Produced from a mix of traditional varieties of Arabica. Allegro Coffee, a subsidiary of Whole Foods Market, offers one of the country's largest selections of single-origin coffees. Visit www.allegrocoffee.com or call 800-227-1107 for more information.
Who Should Drink It: Those who prefer depth and resonance to brightness and drama in a balanced breakfast cup.
