Blind Assessment: Big, deep, syrupy. The aroma and flavor express the complexity of the pure coffee fruit: sweetly tart, lemon- and cherry-toned, with a crisp, backgrounded nut and fresh-cut fir, all of which soften in a long, resonant finish.
Notes: Despite grower discontent and sporadic social disorder, Kenya continues to produce some of the world's most elegant and distinctive coffees. This auction lot, from trees of the distinctive SL 28 and SL 34 varieties, was milled and dried at the Thiriku Factory and roasted at PT’s Coffee, where the motto is “without the love, it’s just coffee.” Visit
Who Should Drink It: Simply a splendid coffee, complete, majestic, powerful but gracious, meaning even those who avoid big, assertive lighter-roasted coffees should respond to this one for its sweetness, depth and balance.
