Blind Assessment

Deeply rich, with an enveloping pungency. Blackcurrant, musky rose, walnut and oak in aroma and cup. Low-toned but rich acidity; buoyant, syrupy mouthfeel. Walnut saturates the short finish; blackcurrant the long.

Notes

The Karogoto wet mill processes coffee from the South Kirimukuyu Farmers’ Cooperative Society, which includes about 800 members, all smallholders averaging only 250 coffee trees per farm. Despite grower discontent and urban encroachment on prime coffee lands, Kenya continues to produce some of the world’s most elegant and distinctive coffees.
