Blind Assessment: Softly expressed complexity: dark chocolate, oak, kumquat, lavender, with a sweet, slightly starchy note suggesting fresh, ripe corn. Crisp, sweet, rather backgrounded acidity; lightly syrupy mouthfeel. Considerably complexity carries into a long, resonant finish.
Notes: Wood Burl is a micro-roaster based in Dayton, Ohio that evolved from the locally popular Press Coffee Bar, aimed at extending the Press’s high standards for brewing to roasting. Visit www.woodburlcoffee.com for more information.
Who Should Drink It: A quiet but complex and original Kenya that should please those who prefer resonance to assertive brightness.
