Blind Assessment: Deep and penetrating floral aroma: orangy sweetness and blackberries. Gentle acidity, smooth mouthfeel, and an intense, flavor-saturated character in the cup: classic black currant notes mingle forcefully with the concentrated sweetness of dried berries and flowers. Long, intensely sweet finish with the flavor notes delicately lingering and softening toward a fruit-toned chocolate.
Notes: In addition to his retail roasting operation, Aroma Roast Coffees, Simon Hsieh also runs Soaring Phoenix Trading, a business focused on high quality green single-origin coffees and commercial espresso blends. Who Should Drink It: An exceptional example of the Kenya profile, with pronounced classic black currant character.
