Blind Assessment

Evaluated as espresso. Very sweet-toned, gently bright aroma: sweet cocoa, pineapply fruit. In the small cup lean but silky mouthfeel, with the fruit and cocoa notes deepened and enriched by hints of wine, cedar and leather. In two parts milk a sweet chocolate dominates complicated by gently tart fruit.

Notes

This coffee was grown in the Santa Barbara region by farmer Bertilio Portillo, one of whose coffees won the 2009 Honduras Cup of Excellence competition, the most respected competition for green coffees from a given country of origin. Bard Coffee is a coffeehouse and roasting company based in Portland, Maine particularly focused on distinctive single-origin coffees. Bard Coffee is co-owned by Bob Garver, founder of Wicked Joe Coffee Roasting and a frequent judge at barista competitions in the United States and internationally. Who Should Drink It

Subtle palates that appreciate a pleasing balance of sweeter chocolate-related notes and gently tart fruit in straight shot or short milk.
