Blind Assessment: Deeply but vivaciously expressed complexity. Raspberry-like fruit, roasted cacao nib, honey, narcissus-like flowers, a hint of pungent sandalwood in aroma and cup. Round, juicy acidity; syrupy yet lively mouthfeel. Long, rich, flavor-saturated finish.
Notes: This fine coffee was selected as the #7 coffee in the Coffee Review Top 30 Coffees of 2013.This extraordinary Holiday blend owes its distinctiveness to two very distinguished coffees, a Kenya AA Rumikia Blackberry and the rare Sulawesi AA Toarco Toraja. Sulawesi Toarco is a fully wet-processed coffee, unlike the typical wet-hulled coffees produced in Sulawesi and elsewhere in Indonesia. Located in Everett, Washington, north of Seattle, Velton's Coffee is a quality-focused small-batch wholesale roaster. Visit www.veltonscoffee.com or call 206-250-6130 for more information.
Who Should Drink It: Superb balance, complete structure and deeply expressed aroma and flavor should impress aficionados while seducing any casual coffee drinkers around the holiday table.
