Blind Assessment: Spice-toned, deeply sweet. Blueberry, lavender, fresh-cut cedar, molasses, baking spices in aroma and cup. Richly sweet structure with lively acidity; satiny-smooth mouthfeel. Quiet, sweetly spice-toned finish.
Notes: This coffee tied for the third-highest rating in a tasting of holiday blends for Coffee Review‘s December 2019 tasting report. Comprised of an Ethiopia Guji natural-process, a Costa Rica Tarrazu white honey-process, and a washed-process Kenya Nyeri. Detour Coffee, founded in 2009, is a wholesale and retail roasting company located near Toronto, Canada. Visit www.detourcoffee.com for more information.
The Bottom Line: A subtle, nuanced cup rich with notes of spicy florals and baking spices with an appealing berry throughline.
