Blind Assessment: Soft, round, quietly vibrant. Cashew, red plum, tea rose, baking chocolate, cedar in aroma and cup. Sweet structure with crisply bright acidity; lightly syrupy mouthfeel. The finish consolidates to notes of baking chocolate and cedar.
Notes: Produced by smallholding members of COOPACVOD, led by coop member Mariane Merisier, from trees of the Blue Mountain, Typica and Bourbon varieties of Arabica, and processed by the washed method (fruit skin and flesh are removed from the beans before they are dried). Certified USDA Organic. Cafe Kreyol is a roaster in Manassas, Virginia with the mission of creating sustainable employment by way of specialty coffee. The Bottom Line: A pleasingly crisp, sweetly stone fruit- and nut-toned organic Haiti cup with an inspiring story and a chocolate throughline.
