Blind Assessment
Crisp, sweet-toned, subtle. Candied walnut, oak, myrrh, cranberry, a hint of dark chocolate in aroma and cup. Tart but round acidity; softly plush mouthfeel. Cranberry, oak and myrrh carry into a round, balanced finish.
Notes
Produced by Roberto Martinelli of the Bourbon, Catuai, Caturra and Villa Sarchi varieties of Arabica. This is a wet-processed or “washed” coffee, meaning the fruit skin and pulp were removed from the beans immediately after harvesting and before drying. Mojo Coffee is a New Orleans-based roaster specializing in ethically sourced, hand-sorted and small-batch-roasted coffees. It strives to highlight the innate sweetness and unique flavor characteristics of each coffee and focuses on ensuring consistency from seed to cup. Bottom Line
Delicate but subtly strong-charactered Guatemala; the sweet walnut juxtaposed with tart fruit is unusual and appealing.
