Blind Assessment: Balanced, sweet-toned. Baking chocolate, almond, date, molasses, magnolia in aroma and cup. Bittersweet structure with little perceptible acidity; satiny-smooth mouthfeel. A rather muted finish centers around almond and baking chocolate.
Notes: This coffee was tested as part of a survey of single-origin coffees available in U.S. supermarkets for Coffee Review’s February 2020 report. The Bottom Line : A good-value darker roasted Guatemala driven by quiet chocolate and nut notes.
