Blind Assessment: Smooth, layered complexity. Delicate floral notes, nut-toned chocolate, honey, a hint of banana in aroma and cup. Balanced, sweet-toned acidity; lightly syrupy mouthfeel. The floral notes in particular surface in a sweet, surprisingly deep finish.
Notes: Produced on Finca Covadonga by farmer Roberto Sanchez. Guatemala’s Antigua Valley produces some of Central America’s most traditional and classic coffees. Klatch Coffee is an award-winning small-batch roasting company in the Los Angeles area whose resident barista and trainer, Heather Perry, won both the 2003 and 2007 United States Barista Championships brewing a Klatch Coffee espresso blend. Who Should Drink It: A fine exemplar of the sweet lucidity of the celebrated Antigua cup.
