Blind Assessment

Intensely and extravagantly aromatic. Lavender, honey, mango, crisp roasted cocoa nib in aroma and cup. Brisk, delicately tart acidity; lightly syrupy mouthfeel. Flavor carries deep into a long, balanced finish.

Notes

Produced from trees of the rare Ethiopia-derived botanical variety Gesha (also spelled Geisha). With its generally elongated beans and distinctive floral and crisp, often chocolaty cup, the Gesha variety continues to distinguish itself as one of the world's most unique coffees. This is an auction lot of Esmeralda Gesha from Hacienda La Esmeralda, the producer that first introduced Gesha to the world. This coffee is also Rainforest Alliance certified, meaning it was produced following sustainable ecological and socio-economic criteria developed by the Sustainable Agricultural Network, a coalition of independent, environment-focused non-governmental organizations. The Coffee Academïcs is a purveyor and roaster of specialty coffee in Hong Kong since 2012. Visit www.the-coffeeacademics.com or call +852-3104-0075 for more information.

Who Should Drink It

An opportunity to sample one of the coffee’s most singular experiences, the crisp, lush intensity of the great Geisha profile.
