Blind Assessment

Richly sweet, floral-toned. Magnolia, date, almond, caramel, fresh-cut cedar in aroma and cup. Sweet structure with gentle, round acidity; full, syrupy-smooth mouthfeel. Floral and nut-toned finish.

Notes

Produced from trees of the rare Ethiopia-derived botanical variety Geisha (also spelled Gesha) on the Chiari family’s Finca Lerida Esplenderosa in Jaramillo, Panama under the management of family member Sonia Amoruso. With its elongated beans and distinctive cup, the Geisha variety continues to distinguish itself as one of the world’s most unique coffees.  One of the country’s pioneering socially and environmentally progressive roasters, Thanksgiving aimed to combine coffee quality with social and environmental responsibility many years before the latter preoccupations became fashionable. Visit www.thanksgivingcoffee.com or call 800-648-6491 for more information.

Bottom Line

A rich, deeply pungent Panama Geisha cup deftly roasted to medium to promote particularly attractive caramel and floral notes.
