Blind Assessment: Evaluated as espresso. Co-taster Sean Kohmescher (94) and Ken (94) both admired this sample’s refined complexity and chocolate-toned depth. Ken cited crisp fir and lemon complication, whereas Sean’s reading of nuance inclined more toward berry and wine. Both found the sample slightly more impressive in the small cup than in milk, but nevertheless honored its sweet chocolaty balance in two parts milk, nuanced (for Ken) by hints of flowers and lemon.
Notes: Certified organically grown by members of the Addis Ketema Cooperative, a group of over two thousand family farms that average just 3.4 acres each. Terroir is a microroaster focusing on elite single-origin coffees. It was a pioneer in the revival of medium roast styles designed to foreground the character of the green coffee. Terroir is the creation of George Howell, one of the world's leading coffee visionaries. Visit www.terroircoffee.com or call 866-444-5282 for more information.
Who Should Drink It: Ethiopia aromatic excitement rounded and deepened for your espresso pleasure.
