Blind Assessment
Crisply sweet, rich-toned. Dried apricot, hazelnut, roasted cacao nib, narcissus-like flowers, fresh-cut cedar in aroma and cup. Sweet-tart structure with lively acidity; full, syrupy-smooth mouthfeel. Notes of apricot and narcissus lead the finish, which rounds to cocoa and sweet hazelnut in the long.
Notes
Sidama coffees like this one are produced from distinctive-tasting, largely indigenous Ethiopian varieties of Arabica long grown in the region. This is a dry-processed or “natural” coffee, meaning the beans were dried inside the fruit rather than after the fruit has been removed, as is the case with wet-processed or “washed” coffees. Jebena Coffees is a Dubai-based custom-built roasting facility with a temperature- and humidity-controlled storage area and a professional cupping lab. Jebena offers coffees for both retail and wholesale purchase, as well as coffee training at every level. Visit www.jebenacoffees.com for more information.
Bottom Line
A cleanly balanced natural-processed Ethiopia coffee with throughlines of dried stone fruit, cocoa and deep florals.
