Blind Assessment
Sweet-toned and delicately tart. Blood orange, fresh-cut cedar, almond, honeysuckle, marjoram in aroma and cup. Tart and lightly zesty in structure; lightly plush in mouthfeel. Crisp and sweet in the finish with a richly drying edge; flavor notes consolidate but linger.
Notes
Southern Ethiopia coffees like this one are produced from traditional Ethiopian varieties of Arabica long grown in the region. When processed by the wet or washed method (fruit skin and pulp are removed before drying) they typically express great aromatic complexity and intensity with a particular emphasis on floral notes. Like virtually all southern Ethiopia coffees, this coffee is produced by villagers on small, garden plots interplanted with food and other subsistence crops. Topéca Coffee is an artisan roaster with three café locations and a roastery in Tulsa, Oklahoma.Visit www.topecacoffee.com or call 918-398-8022 for more information.
Bottom Line
A light-footed, vivacious wet-processed Ethiopia cup. Might make a refreshing cold or iced coffee.
