Blind Assessment
Crisply pungent, deeply sweet. Honey, jasmine, sandalwood, tangerine zest, a hint of myrrh in aroma and cup. Delicate but richly expressed acidity; silky mouthfeel. A cocoa suggestion surfaces in the quietly flavor-saturated short finish; jasmine and sandalwood last in the long.
Notes
The Yirgacheffe region produces distinctive coffees from traditional varieties of Arabica long grown in the area. This is a “natural” or dry-processed version, meaning the beans were dried inside the fruit rather than after the fruit has been removed, as is the case with wet-processed or “washed” coffees. Argyle Coffee Roasters aims to provide people the opportunity to drink better coffee through education, outreach, and creating connections. Visit www.argylecoffeeroasters.com for more information.
Bottom Line
A natural-processed coffee without a hint of ferment, only a deep, honey-like sweetness and intricate floral and incense-like notes.
