Blind Assessment

Intense, exotic, balanced. Lush night-blooming flowers, roasted cacao nib, butter, hints of cedar and plum in aroma and cup. Richly round acidity; full, syrupy mouthfeel. Flavor consolidates but persists deep into a balanced, slightly drying finish.

Notes

This is a dry-processed or "natural" coffee, meaning the beans were dried inside the fruit rather than after the fruit has been removed, as is the case with wet-processed or "washed" coffees. Certified organically grown and meticulously prepared by Asnakech Thomas, Ethiopia’s only female miller/exporter. With two locations in Southern California's Orange County, Kéan Coffee is an in-house coffee roaster and retailer established by Martin Diedrich of the distinguished Diedrich coffee family. The Kéan slogan, "Martin knows his beans" should be true, considering Martin grew up in Guatemala where his family owned a coffee farm.
