Blind Assessment: Evaluated as espresso produced as a “ristretto” 25ml (.85-ounce) shot using a Nespresso capsule espresso brewer with whole milk heated using a conventional steam wand. Rich-toned, floral- and fruit-driven. Jasmine, apricot, almond, baking chocolate, cedar in aroma and small cup. Delicately viscous mouthfeel; crisp finish centered around chocolate and almond notes. The milk shot is boldly pleasing, chocolate-laden and richly floral.
Notes: One of the world’s most celebrated coffees presented in a Nespresso-compatible capsule. Geisha (also Gesha) continues to be one of the world’s most celebrated and sought-after coffee varieties, and the Hacienda La Esmeralda Geishas remain among the most authentic. This version is the Coronado 6AD nano-lot, sold exclusively to Difference Coffee; only 1,050 boxes are available. This is a wet-processed or “washed” version (fruit skin and pulp are removed before drying). Difference Coffee aims to present only the finest of the world’s coffees as determined by green coffee competitions and other measures of distinction, tactfully roasted and presented in capsules compatible with Nespresso capsule brewing systems. The Bottom Line: A balanced, bright, rich-toned Panama Geisha in Nespresso-compatible format: chocolaty, sweetly fruit-driven, deeply floral.
