El Salvador Cup of Excellence 2008 La Lainez
|Roaster Location:||Acton, Massachusetts|
|Coffee Origin:||Usulutan Department, El Salvador.|
|Review Date:||November 2008|
Blind Assessment: Round, sweet-toned aroma: flowers, molasses, spice. In the cup intense but sweetly balanced acidity, silky mouthfeel, lemon, floral and caramel notes. Sweet, rich, citrus-rind- and nut-toned finish.
Notes: The fields of Finca Las Lainez are planted entirely in the heirloom Bourbon variety of Arabica. A prize winner in the 2008 El Salvador Cup of Excellence competition, where as a green (unroasted) coffee this lot attracted a score of 89.31 from an international jury. Who Should Drink It: A classic Central American coffee, quiet but intense, perfectly developed in the roast.
