Complex aroma: molasses, dark chocolate, pungent earth notes, with hints of flowers. In the cup lean-bodied and dominated by sweet-toned musty earth notes that could read as an outdoorsy dark chocolate. Pungent citrus, continued floral hints. Stays just on the rich side of astringent in the sweet-toned finish.
No decaffeination process is listed, suggesting that this Sumatra was decaffeinated by the conventional or direct solvent method. A traditional Sumatra of the type distinguished by low acidity and idiosyncratic flavor notes that appear to result from serendipitous taints, especially a mild earthiness or mustiness, acquired during unconventional drying procedures.
